With 2009 begins the second millennium of Scouts within Australia.

Over the past 100 years there were many changes in society and many challenges to be faced.
Throughout those years there emerged the highest recognition, by the community, for the older youth within the community.
The recognition was the King’s Scout Award and the now the Queen’s Scout Award.

There is such high regard for the skills and abilities learnt, determination and experiences through scouting, that society is prepared
to this pool of individuals as their community, business and political leaders.

As Venture Scouts within the Hunter and Coastal Region you have joined this prestige  group of individuals.
Please take the opportunity, you now have, to contribute to the growth and effective running of your unit.

Above all else have fun, learn the skills, acquire the knowledge, face the challenges confronting youth today and emerge confident and competent
enough to successfully lead others and your peers.
